Welcome address
Dear Colleagues and Friends,
The 9th World Congress for Microcirculation will be held in Paris, from September 26 to 28, 2010, and it is a great pleasure to welcome you to participate actively in this special event, which will be associated with the 19th Eurochap meeting of the International Union of Angiology, and take place simultaneously with the 9th Annual Congress of the Société Française de Médecine Vasculaire.
This congress will take place at a time when microcirculatory disorders are considered more and more as key pathophysiological mechanisms or therapeutical targets in a large variety of pathologies, including cardiovascular or metabolic disorders, inflammation, cancer, etc...
On this occasion, physicians and scientists interested in vascular diseases will come from all over the World to share the new findings in the field of microcirculation. This will be a unique opportunity for improving our understanding of microvascular mechanisms, explored from bench to bedside and leading to the development of new techniques and therapeutic procedures. The large number of symposia propositions reveals the great interest of the scientific and medical communities in attending the Paris Congress. The numerous oral sessions, and the young investigators symposia and young investigator awards, will also create a unique opportunity for young scientists interested in microcirculation to have scientific and friendly exchange with more experienced researchers in the field of microcirculation.
We look forward to seeing you in Paris at this congress, which will be a very special and memorable event for the vascular world.
For the Organizing Committee,
Professor Eric VICAUT, President
